It is really unfortunate that we are consuming poison unconsciously throughout our life. Toxins are consumed by us from approximately a few weeks of our birth till we breathe our last. Most of us consider plastic bottles as a blessing to humankind. The harsh reality is that they are a curse shrouded in the garb of plastic bottles. The bottles from which we used to drink milk and fruit juices when we are young to the bottle of mineral bottle… all of them contain hazardous toxins. It is not that the manufacturers of these bottles do not know about the toxicity of these bottles.

It is just that they do not reveal these facts. After all, these bottles form a part of a multi-billion industry. However, there are ways by which we can save ourselves from these toxins and even save the environment. There is yet another advantage of shredding bottles. The volume of the shredded bottles is far less that that of the unshredded ones. In fact the total volume of the shredded plastic bottles is approximately one-sixth or less of the original. This literally translates into huge savings as far as space is concerned and with the costs of real estate spiraling, it means a great deal of savings.

The easiest way to do this is by shredding the bottles after use. Special plastic bottle shredders are available for office use. The unit is powered by household current and is set on a frame that is elevated 3 feet from the ground. A collection bucket lies under the shredder. The main machine contains a rack slanted at 45 degrees for putting used bottles in. Using the machine is quite a simple task. Get a couple of bottles to shred and turn on the plastic bottle shredder.

Not place the bottles one by one on the rack till all of them have been done with. After a few minutes you will observe small chunks of plastic emerging from the bottom of the plastic bottle shredder. It hardly takes a minute for the machine to shred a dozen bottles. Here is an experiment that you might love to try. The water bottles delivered in the office are supplied in a cardboard carton, with each carton containing a dozen bottles. Take one carton full of empty plastic water bottles, and shred them using plastic bottle shredders.

Now take out the shredded pieces from the collection bucket and put them back in the cardboard carton. You will be surprised to see the small amount of space they take. There is no need to explain why if you know mathematics. We had also discussed above about the manufacturers of plastic water bottles and that they did not convey all details about the bottles to the consumers. The fact is that these bottles are manufactured from virgin plastic and are not supposed to be reused. Simply consume their contents and then drop them in the plastic bottle shedder.
